I am a UX/UI Designer and Digital Illustrator. I create beautiful and user-friendly designs.
I created this infographic for MEC, a Canadian specialty retailer of outdoor lifestyle, travel gear and sporting goods.
All information was provided to me by MEC. I decided to separate everything into sections to make it feel less content-heavy, and added colourful yet simple graphics to highlight (not distract from) the facts shared.
My goal was to make the infographic look fun, interesting and easy to read, while staying true to the MEC brand.
Mobile App Design
South by Southwest (SXSW) is an annual conference and festival celebrating the convergence of the interactive, film, and music industries.
In 2017, SXSW challenged Eventbase to incorporate AI technology into the official SXSW GO mobile app to further enhance user experience.
The result is Abby, an in-app chatbot that helps attendees navigate SXSW, find out what’s happening, and get real-time answers to FAQs.
I worked closely with our developers to ensure the bot worked seamlessly within the existing app. I designed the interface to be simple, intuitive, and true to the SXSW voice and brand.
HPE Discover is Hewlett-Packard's ultimate technology event where IT professionals gather to learn, connect, and grow. Along with Aruba Networks, HP sought to deliver audio content to attendees through their Self-Guided Discover Tours.
Our task was to integrate this feature into the official HPE Discover mobile app. This meant working around several time, budgetary, design and development constraints.
I designed the Discover Tours and audio player to be as consistent with the app as possible, and worked with Eventbase’s lead developer to ensure all the above parameters were met.
In three years as a UX/UI Designer at Eventbase, I worked on over a hundred apps for clients all over the world across different industries -- corporate, consumer, tech, film, music, sports, medical, and more.
Here are some featured apps:
IBM Events, 2016-17 • New York Film Festival, 2016 • Consumer Electronics Show, 2017 • Dan Diego Comic-Con, 2015 • Squamish Valley Music Festival, 2015
Here are some digital paintings of my friends and colleagues, which I made in Photoshop. I tend to fuss too much over the little details when I draw, so I challenged myself by setting a 3-hour max time limit per portrait. Some were definitely easier than others!
Children of Art is a nonprofit organization in Vancouver, B.C. They wanted to create a website that would educate users about the importance of art for children, as well as attract investors, partners, and volunteers.
I created the sitemap, wireframes, and visual design of the site. I also helped the company founder organize the information and co-wrote the all final content.
The only material provided to me was the logo. I chose bold colours, fun fonts, and colourful imagery to reflect the organization’s optimistic and vibrant spirit.
I designed this 19 x 62 in. poster for one of Eventbase's production teams, "The Simpsons". The brief was to create an infographic enumerating the team’s working agreements, while doubling as wall decor to brighten up the office space.
The Modal Nodes Team Poster
I created this poster for one of Eventbase's production teams, "The Modal Nodes". The team name and poster were inspired by Star Wars' "Figrin D'an & The Modal Nodes", the band that plays the famous cantina song when Luke Skywalker meets Han Solo for the first time.
Bon Accord Creative Website
Bon Accord Creative is a Vancouver-based firm specializing in creating and building websites for small business.
My task was to do a complete redesign of their website, including choosing the fonts, colour palette, and photos/graphics used.
I also created supporting social media graphics (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Instagram) and online ads to match the new site.
One of my first projects was redesign the website of Clear HR Consulting, a Vancouver-based HR consulting firm.
This project was contracted out to me by October 17 Media, Inc. The goal was to give Clear HR’s website a fresh, updated look to match their new logo.
The most challenging part was figuring out how to organize and display large amounts of information while keeping the website clean and user-friendly.
Urbanarium is an new initiative by city-planners, landscape designers, and architects in Vancouver, B.C. The task was to plan a website that would evolve organically as the Urbanarium matures and begins to define itself.
This project was done for the Interaction Design Essentials program at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. Research, concept, strategy and initial layout sketches were done as a team effort. The final design mockups were completed individually.
“Bookmark” is an iOS app that lets you track the books you’ve read, the books you’re currently reading, and what page you’re on.
This project was done for the Interaction Design Essentials program at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. The brief was to create and design a mobile app that I myself would be a user of.
The assignment included research, brainstorming and conceptualization of the app; generating user profiles; creating user flows; wireframing; and presenting final design mockups.
